The 53rd Welsh Division Memorial at Aartshertogenlaan, 's-Hertogenbosch, Noord-Brabant The text on the pillar is: 'TO THOSE WHO DESERVE TO BE ETERNALLY REMEMBERED'. And the text on the plaque is: 'THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED BY MEMBERS OF 53RD (WELSH) DIVISION IN MEMORY OF THEIR COMRADES WHO DIED IN THE FIGHTING IN NORTH WEST EUROPE DURING THE YEARS 1944-1945. IT WAS PLACED HERE TO COMMEMORATE THE FACT THAT THE TOWN OF 'S-HERTOGENBOSCH WAS LIBERATED BY THE DIVISION IN OCTOBER 1944 AFTER BITTER FIGHTING.'
