English: Lignt pollution killing Aeroplankton in Meung-sur-Loire, above the river Loire (France). A lot of insects are trapped by light. (And during all the day thousands of swallows hunt them). During the night a large number of bats and spiders captured in the unusually high number because of phenomena of light pollution where it exists (as here).
Français : Pollution lumineuse décimant le Plancton aérien (ou Aéroplancton) à Meung-sur-Loire, au dessus du fleuve Loire (France, Aout 2010). Plusieurs centaines à milliers d'insectes par m3 d'air sont piégés autour des lampes (ici du pont qui enjambe la Loire). Le jour des milliers d'hirondelles les chassent et la nuit un grand nombre de chauve-souris et d'araignées les capturent en nombre anormalement élevé là où - comme ici - des phénomènes de pollution lumineuse existent |
