Description
English: U.S. Navy planes from the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CV-9) attack two Japanese aircraft carriers at Kure, Japan, on 19 March 1945. A Curtiss SB2C "Helldiver" scout bomber is visible in the upper right, painted in Essex markings. The ship at bottom is either Amagi or Katsuragi. The other carrier is Kaiyo.
