Summary

Description
English: A Great Western Railway postcard of the Vulcan, a broad gauge steam locomotive. One of the first locomotives delivered to the company in 1837, it was originally a conventional locomotive with a separate tender but was rebuilt into this form as a tank locomotive in 1846. After it was withdrawn in 1868 it was used as a boiler at Reading for a further two years.
