Description

Image of a Cox Mound style gorget, a shell gorget with four crested birds, most likely woodpeckers.

  • Over 30 gorgets of this design have been found in Tennessee, and they could possibly be made by ancestral Cherokee, Muscogee, or Yuchi people.[1]
