Summary

Description
English: Spectral line radiation from an argon flashtube, operated at very high voltage and low current, as seen through a digital camera. The tube is underenergized, allowing the camera to photograph it unfiltered. While appearing quite purple and dim to the naked eye, the camera is able to image a multitude of powerful spectral lines in the near-irfrared,[1] into which most of the gas' output is placed at low current densities.
