Asthma prevalence in children has increased since 1980, especially in younger children. In 2001, around 6 million (or 9 percent) U.S. children 18 years old and younger had asthma, compared to approximately 3.6 percent of children in 1980. However, the number of children having asthma attacks seems to have leveled off in the period between 1997 and 2001.
This graph image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Asthma prevalence.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
