English: The Atalante Hermes”. Pentelic marble. Found at Atalante, Phthiotis. Funerary statue of a youth depicted in the form of the god Hermes. He is shown nude with his chlamys over his shoulder and wound around his left arm. In his left hand he will have held the caduceus. Work of the 2nd century A.D. copying or repeating a statue type of the 4th century B.C. with Lysippean characteristics. Accession number: 240. National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
