Summary

Description PAPUA, NEW GUINEA. 1942-10. TROOPS AND NATIVE CARRIERS CROSSING THE BROWN RIVER, BETWEEN NAURO AND MENARI, BY MEANS OF A HUGE LOG FALLEN ACROSS THE STREAM. NATIVE CARRIERS HAVE PROVED INVALUABLE AND HAVE CARRIED BESIDES FOOD SUPPLIES, AMMUNITION AND GUNS TO OUR FORWARD POSITIONS. THEIR WORK IN CARRYING OUT WOUNDED SOLDIERS SAVED MANY MEN FROM A LIKELY DEATH IN THE JUNGLE.
