Summary

Description Known locally as the "Giant's Grave", this is a wedge-shaped gallery grave – a type of communal burial place built in the second millenium B. C. The three compartments of the central chamber which housed the burials were surrounded by a horseshoe-shaped setting of stones and covered by a cairn. When excavated in 1945 the tomb produced Beaker pottery and flint implements.
