English: Berwick-upon-Tweed station, commemorative plaque. The plaque on the main (island) platform records a meeting between the King of England (Edward I) and rival Kings of Scotland in 1292, to arbitrate between them. This was held at Berwick Castle, which had been largely demolished when the railway station was built in 1846. |
