Entrance to the Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem. July 2005.
Remnants of earlier larger doors can be seen. This small door was constructed during the Ottoman period. One story is that Turkish soldiers used to ride their horses into the church before this. A later(?) story is that the door is supposed to enforce the humility of those entering.
This photo was taken by me in July 2005 and is put into the public domain. --Zero0000 06:37, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
