DescriptionBeverley and Barmston Drain, Newland - geograph.org.uk - 538358.jpg
English: Beverley & Barmston Drain, Newland, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The Beverley & Barmston Drain just west of the bridge on the A1079 (Beverley Road). The drain runs roughly parallel with the River Hull all the way from the River Hull New Cut at North Frodingham TA0750 almost as far as the Humber, rejoining the River Hull near Wincolmlee TA1029. In the early summer of 2007 most of East Yorkshire's drains were completely overwhelmed by unusually heavy rainfall, resulting in widespread flooding in and around the city of Hull.
