• A search was done at copyright.gov under the name of the company who produced the cards, Topps. While I found more recent original copyright applications for sports cards, I found no renewals for any cards done by Topps. Based on this, there's no evidence that Topps continues to claim on the material.

This work is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1963, and although there may or may not have been a copyright notice, the copyright was not renewed.
