English: 1. Needle is inserted into the upper leg, through the skin and into the Medullary Cavity, where the red marrow is stored and harvested
2. Stem cells from the marrow are then concentrated and prepared for freezing in a laboratory. 3. Patient undergoes chemotherapy to rid the body of any harmful viruses, bacteria or cancer cells. 4. Patient is infused with the Donor's blood which contains the stem cells. |
