English: It is uncommon to see children reading in Laos, a country where books have traditionally been rare. Even more surprising, at first, is the subject of the book that has captured the attention of these two boys: It's about intestinal parasites. Stomach and intestinal worms are endemic in rural Laos, however. Both boys have presumably suffered from them, multiple times, and are eager to learn what causes them. They received their books from Big Brother Mouse, which sets up daily reading programs in Lao schools.
