| Description |
Boston is a town in Lincolnshire, England. Residents of Boston are known as Bostonians. Emigrants from Boston named several other settlements around the world after the town, most notably Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. In the centre of the town is a church - St Botolph's Church - which is said to be one of the largest parish churches in England. The church is known for it's unusually tall tower, known as the "Boston Stump". In order to get a photo I climbed the tower and found it to be hard work, needing to stop for breath several times. It's 272 feet (83 m) high at it can be seen for many miles. Eventually I got to the top and was blessed with great views over the flat countryside in all directions. This view is of the River Witham, which has been straightened to aid navigation. I plan to upload more pictures from here in due course. |
