For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB/Sindermann/2.7.90/Rostock/Shanty/Am Band wird ihre fleißige Arbeit geschätzt. Trotzdem gehören 290 vietnamesische Näherinnen zu den ersten Arbeitskräften, die der Rostocker Jugendmodebetrieb "Shanty" entläßt und Ende August "im Einvernehmen mit ihrer Regierung" nach Hause schickt. Pham Thi Thu und ihr Betreuer Lai Hopsau (im Hintergrund) haben vier Jahre in der DDR gelebt und gearbeitet. |
