Description
English: Campanile of St. Mark's Basilica - Weathervane ange. n 1820, the weather vane statue of the angel was replaced by another by Luigi Zandomeneghi. During the collapse of 1902 the Angel fell, near the main portal of Saint Mark's Basilica and was badly damaged but repaired by Munaretti. It has gilded bronze arms and feet and it is covered with the gilded copper sheets which constitute the garment. In the center the iron armor is fixed a pole which descends on an axis and the Angel can rotate it still serves as a weather vane.
Français : Campanile de la Basilique Saint-Marc - L'ange girouette. En 1820, la statue girouette de l’Archange Gabriel, a été remplacée par une autre de Luigi Zandomeneghi. Lors de l'écroulement de 1902 l'Ange alla tomber, près du portail principal de la Basilique Saint Marc et fut très endommagé mais réparé par Munaretti. Il a les bras et les pieds en bronze doré et il est recouvert les feuilles de cuivre dorées qui constituent le vêtement. Au centre l’armure de fer est fixée une hampe qui descendant sur un axe et l'Ange peut pivoter il sert toujours de girouette.
Italiano: Campanile della Basilica di San Marco - Ange banderuola. Nel 1820 la statua segnavento dell'Arcangelo Gabriele, fu sostituita da un'altra di Luigi Zandomeneghi. Durante il crollo del 1902 l'Angelo cadde, nei pressi del portale principale della Basilica di San Marco e fu gravemente danneggiato ma riparato dal Munaretti. Presenta braccia e piedi in bronzo dorato ed è ricoperta dalle lamine di rame dorato che costituiscono la veste. Al centro dell'armatura di ferro è fissato un palo che discende su un asse e l'Angelo può ruotare che funge sempre da banderuola.
