English: Canterbury Road (A257) On the right is the entrance to The Little Railway Farm Shop, which in the days of the East Kent Light Railway would have been the point at which the railway crossed the road to terminate at Wingham Canterbury Road station. Further rail plans had been drawn up in the 1930s and preliminary work was started on a line to run from this station to Chislet Colliery via Stodmarsh but their plans did not come to fruition. The railway opened on 16 October 1916 and closed completely on 1 March 1951. Although the text of the link indicates that there is no evidence on the ground of the cutting beyond the station, one can discern its faint outline from the air.
