English: This photo depicts Carl Mays in a New York Yankees uniform at the Polo Grounds sometime during 1919-22. Mays played on the New York Yankees from mid-1919 through 1923. The Yankees moved from the Polo Grounds to Yankee Stadium at the start of the 1923 season. That same year, the Polo Grounds wooden bleachers (shown in background here) were replaced by permanent seating. Hence the photo is from 1922 or earlier.
