Summary

Description
English: The humped bull, Nandi, appears at the entrance of every temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Nandi is Shiva's gatekeeper and the animal on which Shiva rides. Circa 1500s AC. From Deccan, India. It is currently housed in the British Museum in London.
