Description
English: Castelnau-d'Estrétefonds. Church of St. Martin. Aristide Cavaillé-Coll's tribune organ performed between 1850 and 1855. The initially experimental instrument with four keyboards modified for an "urgent command" successively by the cathedral of Luçon, then of Carcassonne, it was exposed to the 'Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1855. The organ was delivered on January 1, 1857, to the Convent of the Carmelites of Bagnères-de-Bigorre. After the closure of the convent in 1880, the instrument was offered to the parish of Castelnau- d'Estrtefonds, by a generous merchant, Madame Marguerite Raynaud, a widow Montes, whose son was a Carmelite at the convent of Bagnères-de-Bigorre. The console, separated and turned towards the nave, contains two manual keyboards (large expressive organ, 14 games, narrative, 6 games) and a German pedalboard (4 sets).

L'instrument initialement expérimental à quatre claviers a été modifié pour une ‘’commande urgente’’ successivement par la cathédrale de Luçon, puis de Carcassonne, il a été exposé à l'Exposition universelle de Paris, en 1855. L'orgue est livré, le 1er janvier 1857, au couvent des Carmes de Bagnères-de-Bigorre .Après la fermeture du couvent en 1880, l'instrument est offert à la paroisse de Castelnau-d'Estrétefonds par une généreuse commerçante, Mme Marguerite Raynaud veuve Montès, dont le fils était carme au couvent de Bagnères-de-Bigorre. La console, séparée et tournée vers la nef, comporte deux claviers manuels (grand orgue expressif, 14 jeux ; récit, 6 jeux) et d'un pédalier à l'allemande (4 jeux).
