Cavity_wall.JPG (450 × 600 pixels, file size: 111 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Description
English: A typical cavity wall of blockwork, insulation and brickwork. This would be considered a poor example of a cavity wall by today's standards. The insulation is in contact with both walls, which would allow moisture to pass through from the outer leaf to the inner leaf, causing damp. In modern cavity walls, the insulation is usually installed against the inner leaf (wall) and secured, still leaving an adequate air space in the cavity.
Polski: mur szczelinowy / mur podwójny / termoizolacja
