English: Looking west from below the ruined church of St Mary's, Reculver. Coastal defences built in the 1990s include boulders on the shoreline and a short length of sea wall. The cliffs beyond are eroding rapidly, at about 5 feet (2 m) per year. The centre of Reculver village was approximately centre-right in the photograph, until the late 18th century.
