Summary

Description
English: The cockpit of the Bloodhound Supersonic Car.

Soldiers from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) have been working alongside leading aerospace and motorsport engineers to design the futuristic cockpit of a 1000mph supercar that was revealed to the world’s media last Friday.

The cockpit for the Bloodhound Supersonic Car, capable of travelling a mile in 3.6 seconds, has been designed specifically for the driver, RAF’s Wing Commander Andy Green. Good ergonomics are vital given that Bloodhound will cover 150m in 300 milliseconds – literally in the blink of an eye. He’ll travel a mile in only 3.6 seconds.

The REME are the Army’s professional electro-mechanical engineers who support the British Army’s entire fleet of equipment. From pistols to trucks, helicopters to tanks, the REME maintains and repairs cutting-edge equipment and technology in the most challenging of environments.
