Summary

Description
English: Portrait of a "N. Bălcescu". The figure depicted is either a brother of the Wallachian revolutionary Nicolae Bălcescu, or Nicolae Bălcescu himself. The latter descriptor is described as possibly inaccurate by Ion Frunzetti (in C. Rosenthal, Editura de Stat pentru Literatură, Bucharest, 1955 - gallery section), but is used by Brașov Museum of Art.
