Le soutien-gorge (fig. 2056) est destiné aux personnes qui peuvent se dispenser de l'usage du corset. Il est également employé pour la nuit, pour les bains de mer ou dans les cas d'extrême sensibilité des seins. Il se compose d'ùn tissu à jour très léger, il est lacé à la partie dorsale et se fixe en avant par un busc très souple. Les docteurs conseillent le port du soutien-gorge pendant la nuit, chez toutes les femmes qui ont à redouter l'atrophie ou la mollesse des glandes mammaires par suite de l'insuffisance des ligaments suspenseurs des seins. Le modèle (fig. 2355) est une sorte de sangle qui supplée, pour le mieux, à la déficience de la sangle naturelle. Il est destiné à exercer une compression méthodique sur toute la surface du sein. Par cette disposition, il rend de grands services dans les cas d'hypertrophie de la mamelle.

The bra (Fig. 2056) is for people who can dispense with the use of the corset. It is also used for the night, for the seaside bathing or in cases of extreme breast tenderness. It consists of a very light fabric, it is laced to the dorsal and sets forward a very flexible busk. Doctors recommend wearing a bra during the night, for all women who have a fear of atrophy or weakness of their mammary glands because of the lack of suspensory ligaments of the breasts. The model (fig. 2355) is a kind of girdle which compensates and improves the deficiency of the natural girdle. It is intended to exert a methodical compression on all the surface of the breast. In this way it proves useful in cases of hypertrophy of the breast. |
