Eve, or rather the top half of her, is shown standing naked under the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden, where the grey coiling snake placed above to the right symbolizes Satan the Seducer.

Notes Cut from larger painting at the beginning of the 17th century the busts of Adam and Eve were cut from the painting and repainted into portraits of a marriage couple. In the 20th century, during conservation, the original image was uncovered.
