English: Portrait of Portuguese diplomat D. Luís da Cunha (1662-1749), included in his Memories from the Peace of Utrecht (1715), exquisitely illuminated and bound, offered by the author to King John V of Portugal. The inscription reads: "D. Luís da Cunha, Envoy Extraordinary to William III and Anne Stuart, King and Queen of G. Brit., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the Congress of Utrecht and, later, Ambassador Extraordinary to George I, King of Great Britain."
