Object history
English: The coat of arms of Neutraubling displays an empty silver escutcheon in an indented red point, symbolically representing the hometowns of the expellees who made up 93 percent of the population when the municipality was founded in 1951. This settlement emerged after 1945 on the destroyed Obertraubling airfield.
In the front part of the coat of arms, there is a red patriarchal cross, which commemorates the significant monasteries of Regensburg, particularly the Holy Cross Monastery, which was the most important manorial lord in the present-day city area from the Middle Ages until the early 19th century. Other monasteries such as St. Emmeram, Obermünster, and Prüfening also owned lands here. The close historical connection to the municipality of Obertraubling is emphasized by the use of the red triple cross in both municipal coats of arms.
A black cogwheel grows from the edge of the shield, symbolizing the great importance of the metalworking industry for the city's development.
The color combination of black, red, and silver also recalls the coat of arms of the Haidauer, a noble family to whom the Wittelsbach office of Haidau was transferred in the 13th century, which included the area around Neutraubling.
