Object history
Deutsch: Das rote Kreuz weist auf die ehemalige Zugehörigkeit zu Kurtrier hin. Die Muscheln sind den Wappen der Trierer Erzbischöfe Jakob von Sierk (1439–1456) oder Lothar von Metternich (1599–1623) entnommen. Einer von beiden wird vermutlich das Gemeindesiegel, das schon den Schild mit Kreuz und Muscheln zeigt und in Abdrucken seit 1610 bekannt ist, verliehen haben.
