Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Wiesenbach besteht seit 1978 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Oberegg, Oberwiesenbach und Unterwiesenbach. Durch diesen Zusammenschluss ging das Wappen von Unterwiesenbach aus dem Jahr 1965 unter. Der Gemeinderat beschloss 1997, das Wappen von Unterwiesenbach unverändert anzunehmen. Der steigende silberne Löwe stammt aus dem Wappen der Wiesenbacher, die bis zum Ende des 14. Jahrhunderts im Ort ansässig waren. Sie verkauften ihren dortigen Besitz 1398 an die Grafen von Kirchberg. Im Jahr 1447 kam Unterwiesenbach an das Kloster Roggenburg, das bis zur Säkularisation 1803 von großer Bedeutung für die Geschichte der Gemeinde war. Das Kloster ist auch in Oberwiesenbach und Oberegg als Herrschaftsinhaber belegt. Daran erinnern die Roggenähren aus dem Klosterwappen.
