This is a photograph of a De Hirsh Margules self-portrait. The source of this image is a cache of a CRN auction catalog. I have contacted CRN and was given permission to use the image. The text of the email (which includes a copy of my initial email) is as follows:

"Adrian, I am a huge fan of Margules. The Horblits were very good friends and patrons of his. You may use my photographs.

Regards, Karin Phillips

(p.s. This is a proper way to end a correspondence.)

Your auction house conducted an auction of work of De Hirsch Margules in 2007. http://www.crnauctions.com/trove/lots/listing/113481

I am in the process of writing a Wikipedia entry about Margules and am seeking permission to use some of the thumbnails of the artwork offered for sale and displayed at that auction. One of the items I am interested in posting on the Wikipedia page is the self-portrait of Margules, which was returned to the Horblit collection.http://www.crnauctions.com/trove/lots/detail/113481/000 If you can't grant permission to use the photo of this work, could you let me know how to contact the Horblit collection?"

Given the size of the image, and given the fact that there does not appear to be a public domain photo of Margules anywhere, I think this would be an appropriate image to use in the Infobox of the De Hirsh Margules article.
