Summary

Description
English: Donald J. "Don" Bennett (1931-1987) was an American military officer, businessman and politician. Retired as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army, Bennett settled in Fairbanks, Alaska. At the time of his election to the Alaska House of Representatives in 1976, he owned and operated the historic roadhouse at Mile 101 of the Steese Highway, which he named the Eagle Creek Lodge (it later burned down). Bennett served one term in the House and was then elected to the Alaska Senate, where he served until his death and also served as Senate president at one point.
