Summary

Description
English: See en:Doyle spiral, a type of circle packing with the property that each circle is tangent to six other circles, and those six circles form a ring of tangencies. Under these conditions, a Doyle spiral may be parametrized by two natural numbers (p,q) which count the number of sub-spirals, called arms, of each of three types (the third type having q-p arms). In this case, (p,q)=(6,8) and all eight arms of one type are colored. The image was constructed using a JavaScript program, with coordinates derived from an adaptation of the root-finding and repeated complex-multiplication method at [1].
