Brazilian 1970’s armoured car
Designed to replace Brazil’s existing fleet of WW2 era M8 Greyhounds, the Cascavel entered Brazilian Army service in 1974. 1,738 were produced before production ended in 1993 and they remain in service both in Brazil and with the many nations it was exported to.
This example is on display in the ‘Contemporary World’ hall.

P.S. Cascavel translates as “Rattlesnake”, so why the museum has a cardboard Armadillo standing on it is beyond me!
