English: First electric locomotive, build in 1879 by German engineer Ernst Werner von Siemens.
Deutsch: Elektrolokomotive auf der Gewerbeausstellung in Berlin 1879.

Die Lokomotive wurde 1879 von Siemens & Halske mit der Werksnummer 1 für den Braunkohlenbergbau „Stadtgrube“, Senftenberg gebaut. Neben der Gewerbeausstellung in Berlin wurde die Lok auch auf Ausstellungsbahnen in Brüssel, London, Kopenhagen und Moskau gezeigt und ist seit 2007 in der Aussenstelle Theresienhöhe im Deutschen Museum in München ausgestellt.

Das gezeigte Bild zeigt einen Ausschnitt eines Originalfotos, das sich in meinem Besitz befindet. Es wurde im August 1879 anlässlich der Hochzeitsreise meiner Urgroßeltern August und Marie Kienitz beim Besuch der Gewerbeausstellung aufgenommen. Sieben Personen der vorderen Sitzreihe gehörten zur Hochzeitsgesellschaft, sie sind mir namentlich bekannt. Die Personen Nr. 1 bis 3 von links nach rechts sind Hermann Kienitz, Spediteur aus Görlitz (1818–1900), mein Ururgroßvater Marie Kienitz geb. Rehde (1857–1923), meine Urgroßmutter August Kienitz, Spediteur aus Görlitz (1851–1914) mein Urgroßvater, Die Personen 4 bis 7 sind Geschwister meiner Urgroßeltern bzw.
