DescriptionEddie Izzard's flag for Northern Ireland.svg
English: A flag designed by Eddie Izzard for him to carry while running a number of marathons in Northern Ireland in 2009, as part of a wider series of marathons across the whole of the United Kingdom to raise money for Sport Relief. When doing the marathons in England, Scotland and Wales, Izzard carried the flag of the respective country he was running in. As flags are a contentious issue in Northern Ireland, however, Izzard decided to create his own flag for that part of the journey, so as to avoid controversy. The green background references the Northern Irish football (soccer) jersey, while the white dove symbolises peace.
