Summary[edit]

These are the eight clean places adjacent to the large sacrificial place of the Red Heifer. For each of the eight Red Heifers sacrificed on the Mount of Olives, it was required that a new clean place having shelves for the ashes be hewn in stone. (Num 19,9) The clean man would gather the ashes in earthen vessels and place them in the shelves of the new clean place.
