Dès 1902, pour les portes de son hôtel particulier du Cours la Reine, voir la photo www.flickr.com/photos/dalbera/4763399041/ René Lalique imagine de nouveaux usages architecturaux du verre.

Les portes conservées au musée des arts décoratifs sont les seuls témoignages du pavillon qu'il construit lors de l'Exposition Universelle internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes de 1925. On a photographié un des éléments en verre du panneau en le plaçant sur un fond sombre car au musée il est présenté devant une fenêtre et il est très difficile à observer étant en contre-jour.
