English: Sister Regina Purtell (1866-1950) was a Roman Catholic nun and nurse. During the Spanish-American War she served as a U. S. Army nurse, caring for Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders at the Camp Wikoff Army Hospital, Montauk Point, Long Island. She was also President Roosevelt's personal nurse, at his request, when he met her again at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was known as "The Florence Nightingale of the Spanish-American War."
