Description
English: A memorial stone for Jacob Epstein, Roper’s Garden, on the Chelsea Embankment at the corner of Old Church Street, directly across from Chelsea Old Church. On the reverse side, the inscription says “Unveiled by Admiral Sir Caspar John GCB, 3rd June 1972. This stone by Jacob Epstein commemorates the years 1909 – 1914 when he lived and worked in a studio on this site which was originally Sir Thomas More’s Orchard.”
