Dr. Kühnel was given the medal in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to Near Eastern art. Seated on the stage (left to right) are Franz Krapf, Minister from the Germany Embassy; and his excellency, Ardeshir Zahedir, Iran's Ambassador to the United States |
