Executions in the United States and the earlier colonies from 1608 to 2004.

Data up to 1930 is from the "Espy File" compiled by M. Watt Espy and John Ortiz Smylka, and was made available through the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (1994). From 1930 onwards the data comes from U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics [1].
