Ball-and-stick model of the flattened tetrahedral [CuCl4]2− ion (between tetrahedral and square planar due to Jahn-Teller distortion) as found in the crystal structure of 3-iodopyridinium tetrachlorocuprate(II), (3-IPyH)2[CuCl4], determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and reported in Cryst. Growth Des. (2014) 14 1961-1971 (CSD entry FOBTAT).
