DescriptionFormer Engine No. 16 firehouse, Buffalo, New York - 20200422.jpg
English: The former Engine No. 16 firehouse at 1416 Main Street, Buffalo, New York, April 2020. An Italianate-style brick building dating to 1884, the rich ornamentation on the bracketed cornice and the horizontal band of brickwork interspersed among the second-story windows speak to an Eastlake influence. The style is similar to the former Engine No. 18 on Fillmore Avenue (1886) and No. 19 on Forest Avenue (1887). The building served as a fire house until 1990, whereupon operations moved to a new building on Jefferson Avenue; it now houses apartments on the upper story and the offices of the Western New York Veterans Housing Coalition on the ground floor.
