Description FORT MONROE, Va. -- Dr. Michael L. Hargrave, an archaeologist with the U.S. Army Engineer Research Development Center’s Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, examines a piece of glass discovered during an archaeological dig here June 11. Hargrave is part of a team from ERDC-CERL that's attempting to determine the existence, location and condition of a Civil War-era Contraband or Freedman cemetery that's believed by many to be located on Fort Monroe.
