English: This small town, also known as Tashkurghan, is in the far north of Afghanistan, about halfway between Kunduz and Mazar-i-sharif, only a few miles from the Russian border. These ruins are 300 - 400 years old. All the buildings in and around the town were the same colour as the parched land, as if they were in a state of either arising from the land or crumbling back to it.
