Description
English: This is a photograph of a page (folio 44 recto) from the 14th century Norse manuscript Fríssbók, also known as AM 45 fol. The manuscript is a part of the Arnamagnæan Collection in Copenhagen. This page shows a part of the saga of King Harald Hardrada, including a description of his campaign in Denmark ca. 1044-1045 and a description of negotiations between King Harald and his nephew King Magnus the Good. Poetry is cited by two of Harald's skalds - Valgarðr á Velli and Þjóðólfr Arnórsson.
